| Summer Update - 2007
Thailand...
I can't believe this summer is just flying by so quickly. The week after our kid's school got out, we took a two weeks vacation to Thailand. We went with my parents and my older brother's wife and kids. My brother, Allen, was supposed to go but his passport did not renew on time because of the delay that's going on all over North America, so he had to cancel last minute. That was a bummer.
In Thailand, we had signed up with a tour, so we can experience the country to the fullest. It was well worth it because it really took the stress out of traveling to a foreign country. We visited temples in different cities, shop at different markets, including an interesting floating market where you ride in these gondolas and ride down the river to bargain for gifts and things. We rode elephant in Chang Mai, watched Thailand cultural shows, and explore the beautiful Pattaya Beach. J even got brave enough to try his hand on parasailing and jetskiing. (Of course, with supervision) Many of us got sick after eating the food at the beach. I got knocked down for couple of days... it was painful, but recovered.
The last four days, we got together with our family friends in Thailand. The P family treated us like royalty there. They made us feel like one of their family members. We learned more about Thailand and the people there through this family. They have many successful businesses including owning a golf course. We went golfing, beautiful private course, but it got so hot we were only able to finish 9 holes! However, we still had a lot of fun because in Thailand, everyone have a caddy so you don't have to carry your clubs. They even tell you where to hit, pick up your balls, and hold umbrella for you so you won't overheat....nice! Besides playing golf, we also visited a crocodile farm/zoo. The kids had a great time there. They even took a picture with a live crocodile! I showed the picture to our friend, Mrs. P, but she yelled at me for allowing the kids to do that...she said, "what if the crocodile decided to turn around?" or "What if the tail of that crocodile whipped the kids into the water and into all the other crocodiles?"...yikes...didn't even think of that because the trainers made it look so safe... Thank God they're fine! Other than that, we really had a great time...We shopped alot, ate great foods and visited couple of their family businesses including a university and a gem factory. M was really happy to get her early birthday/anniversary present.
Casa Hogar...
Our next exciting trip was going to an orphanage in Mexico as a family. We had the opportunity through, our church, NewSong Irvine's sunday school "Noah's Place". This is the first time our church took groups of families to go serve. We had about four families. Miss T, our children's pastor, wanted each family to do something different. As for our family, since R is a doc, we set up a clinic there. Everyone in the family had to help out in some capacity so the kids were able to participate by taking the weight and heights of the kids and passing out goodie bags. The goodie bag was a hit because even the kids that did not need to see a doctor wanted to be seen so they made their own medical records there. We had a great time serving, playing and worshiping God with the kids there. They children were all so happy to see us and play with the strangers. If you don't know their history, you would never know that they were abandoned for one reason or another. All of the children there have a story...a very sad story. I really saw God's love through the kids and the staffs there and how He provided such an extended loving family for them. If anything, my kids were comforted by the fact that God do provide at the most unimaginable situation such as losing parents.
In Between...
In between our major trips, this summer the kids continue with their tennis and piano. However, they are also experiencing other instruments such as guitar and drums. As for R, he's busy working so we can take trips and play golf. Oh yeah...he wants everyone to know that he still love riding his motorcycle. As for M, she's continuing with her tennis and little bit of golf. In her insanity, she is taking a voice lesson so she can sing more confidently in the shower...AND...on top of all that, she has joined a group of NewSong women exercising MWF waking up at 5am! C-R-A-Z-I-N-E-S-S!!!
Anyway, summer is not over yet...at the end of August, we will be taking another trip to Orlando, Florida. Hope it won't be too long until the next update. Until then...have a great summer!!

| HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!
I was showered with handmade gifts and cards, and then spoiled with hot breakfast served in bed. Very nice...
I asked Z if they can do Mother's day everyday and he said, "na...you'll have to wait every year like all the other moms." | | |
